Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 93
Tasted blind at the annual “Burgfest” tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Vosne Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots from Domaine de l’Arlot has a stemminess on the nose that is carried nicely by the mixture of red and black fruit. There is a lot of charm and personality here. The palate is medium-bodied with a supple and smooth texture, the acidity well judged and the oak lending structure on the finish without impeding the terroir expression. This is a well crafted Vosne-Romanée courtesy of winemaker Jacques Devauges, of course, since moved up the road to Clos de Tart.
Anticipated maturity: 2017-2032

Healthy medium red. Musky aromas of wild raspberry, smoke and minerals complicated by leather and game nuances. Boasts terrific volume and texture for this bottling but the mid-palate flavors of raspberry, leather and spicy tobacco are slow to express themselves. Best today on the very suave back end, which features round tannins and subtle saline complexity.
Anticipated maturity: 2021-2033
