Tasted blind, to be honest I thought we were in the Cote de Nuits when tasting the 2010 Volnay from Comte Armand. You are duped by the lushness and precocity on the nose: choke cherry and cranberry flanked by lavender scents that just burst from the glass. Medium-bodied and seductively smooth, there is still some oak to be fully subsumed on this Volnay that is sexy in style a la 2009. It is an impressive Volnay, stylish and exuberant, one that deserves two or three more years in bottle. [Neal Martin, 01/06/2015]
