Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 97
With a gorgeous nose of super-concentrated black cherry/kirsch liqueur, this wine offers notes of licorice, crushed rock and flowers followed by a full-bodied, powerful, rich finish with a boatload of tannin. This is a long-distance runner and a sensational effort in the vintage. Drink it over the next 25-30 years.

The 2005 Clos Saint-Martin is a gorgeous, classy Saint-Émilion that is drinking beautifully right now. Freshly cut roses, sweet red berries, kirsch, mint, pomegranate and spice are all laced together. Rich and pliant, yet also wonderfully light on its feet for such an opulent wine, the Clos Saint-Martin is an absolute delight. It is also one of the most alluring, sensual wines of the vintage. I loved it.
