Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 91
A garnet core, very clear in colour. The nose is typical of the vintage: masculine, reserved with notes of cigar box and pencil lead but with great delineation and freshness though it becomes more muffled and surprisingly gamey with ten or fifteen minutes in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied, very good acidity, much better than I supposed with good density and concentration on the finish. Austere? Only a little. Lovely grip on the gamey finish. Creditable for the vintage and should last a few years yet. Drink now-2020 Tasted March 2008.
